FOOTBALL CONDITIONING
THE PHYSICAL WORK THE PITCH DOES NOT HAVE TIME FOR.
Grassroots, pre-competitive and competitive.
During the week, training focuses on technique and the match, and that is right. What gets left out is the athletic side: how you run, how you change direction, how you last ninety minutes, how you avoid getting injured. That is the part I work on, shaped around age and level, because what you train at nine and at seventeen is not the same.
I am qualified in football technical preparation up to Under 17 and I am a sports kinesiologist: on the competitive side I can work without beating around the bush.
GRASSROOTS
Up to twelve, you are not training the footballer, you are training the child. Running, jumping, falling, changing direction, coordinating arms and legs: these are the movement patterns everything else builds on. The work happens with the ball and through play, but behind it there is a clear programme, because this is the age when you build foundations and when you can also damage something by rushing.
Let's talk
PRE-COMPETITIVE
This is the age when the body changes from one month to the next, and the same session that worked in September can be too much or not enough in January. Here you start working on strength in a serious but gradual way, on running, on changes of direction, and above all on body control while still growing. It is also when the first load-related pains appear: you prevent them now, not later.
Let's talk
COMPETITIVE
Here you play to win, and your physical condition holds up or it does not. We work on strength, speed, match-specific endurance and injury prevention, with the programme built around the match calendar instead of a generic chart. First we measure: sprinting, jumps, strength. Those numbers are the starting point of the season, and we measure again along the way.

FIFTEEN MINUTES TO SEE IF IT MAKES SENSE.
The first assessment call is free and lasts fifteen minutes. You tell me your situation, I tell you what can be done and what cannot. If it is not my area, I will say so.
